2nd Annual UCSC "Welcome to Retirement Reception" 

The spectacular weather was only one highlight of the gathering at the Cowell Provost's house June 18th to celebrate the retirement of 32 UCSC staff and faculty.  Special congratulatory certificates were presented to the retirees by Associate Vice Chancellor Allison Galloway.

Roughly 100 people attended the event which featured music by retirees Mike Rotkin and Nick Royal, and enjoyed cake, freshly picked strawberries and a chance to meet fellow retirees.  Also present were participants from our campus community to extol some of the benefits available to retirees -- TAPS, Osher Lifelong Learning, McHenry Library, Benefits Office, Planned Giving, UCSC Women's Club, the Smith Renaissance Society, and the Seymour Center.

This special event was co-sponsored by the UCSC Retiree Association ("Silver Slugs), the Emeriti Association, the Staff Advisory Board and the Chancellor's Office.
