Scholarships for UCSC Students

One of the primary objectives of the UCSC Retirees Association is to raise funds for scholarships to support UC Santa Cruz students.

We have two scholarship programs, one is the Bruce Lane Memorial Scholarship for military veteran students, and the other is the Silver Slug Award scholarship for students who are career staff, or dependents of career staff (working or retired), and who are pursuing a degree with the university.

Each scholarship has its own endowment fund with the UCSC Foundation. Throughout the year, the Retirees Association Board engages in different fundraising activities to build these endowments and ensure the scholarships will be available to give financial support to students in perpetuity.
